Does the translation include a certification?
Yes. At lingoking, driving licences are being translated exclusively with certification.
When will I receive the translation of my driving licence?
lingoking offers you two different delivery options: Standard and Express. For standard delivery, the processing time is 3-5 working days, for express 2-3 working days. The certified translation is then sent by post.
Do I have to have my driving licence translated?
If you plan to stay in Germany, the answer is most likely yes. After 6 months, you usually have to have your driving licence reissued by the German authorities. You will need a certified translation for this.
What is a classification and do I need one?
A classification "translates" the permissible vehicle class according to the German standard. It is indicated either on the translation itself or on an extra sheet. If you need the translation for Germany, you also need a classification. You can select this option when ordering.
Does lingoking need the original of my driving licence?
No. A scan or photo is sufficient, we do not need the original. You can upload your document (front and back) directly in the order after successful payment.
Can I ride alone with the translation?
No, in most cases the translation is not enough. You must make an appointment with the local driving licence office to have your licence converted.
Can I have my driving licence changed / converted at lingoking?
No. The local driving licence office is responsible for the transfer/conversion of your driving licence. However, you will need a certified translation including classification. You can order this easily and conveniently online in our shop.
Can I have my expired driving licence translated?
Yes, this is possible, but in most cases this would not be sufficient. Please contact the competent authority for more information on this.
